I don’t think the Russians are afraid of Finland.

Yep - they'll take care of Finland in a couple weeks after they clean up this Ukraine business, on March 3, 2022.

And yet, Russia still sits on UN Security Council. Why?

If you ever met Vlad Putin, he would be set to gales of laughter. When you told him that you were counting on him to save your scurvy arse, from GloboHomo.

Putin sees you pro-Ukraine invasion types as useful idiots. Dupes. Like ye old time communist dupes, back when the USSR was still around.

Russia’s western neighbors have plenty of reasons to fear and hate that nation. Even Sweden, which stayed out of both World Wars and the Cold War, wants to join NATO.

I always love your self-perceived confidence that you are inside Putin's private thoughts!

Truly funny to watch 🤗

“I don’t think the Russians are afraid of Finland.”

Yes, their rapid invasion and control of Ukraine should embolden that confidence.

Post of the Day Award!

Insane people love a good, global, nuclear holocaust especially since it means they will die, too, as well Putin.

Once Putin is gone who will the globalist indoctrinate the West to hate and become enemy number one? What will the pro-WW3 FReepers do if they don’t have a bad guy to bad mouth?

Finland is a porcupine. Smallish very professional and mechanized army backed by large and trained militia. Modern, NATO spec equipment. Rigorous civil defense for the civilian population. Air Force has F-18 fighters with F-35s on order.

Long north-south border on the east parallels the single highway highway and rail line to the Kola Peninsula, home to Russia's northern fleet and multiple military airbases. Heavily forested, sparse population. Perfectly suited to special forces operations against Russian supply lines.

East if Helsinki is a completely different topography. This is where the Winter War of 1939 was largely fought. Forests, lakes and marshes. Finland “lost” the winter war largely because they ran out of bullets. Neither Sweden nor Germany would sell them munitions.

Russian Navy and commercial shipping would largely be bottled up in St. Petersburg. Access between the Baltic and St. Petersburg is through a small gulf that freezes in the winter and lies between Finland and Estonia. The navigation channel is a mile or three wide over much of its length. Lay out a mine field, a pile of antiship missiles and poof St. Petersburg is corked up.

“The good news is that most of the border is (undefended) frontier.”

Murmansk is vulnerable to attack now and Pootin has to do something about it before his people start complaining. That means moving troops away from Ukraine.

Russia’s fate was sealed long ago.
——-
Yes it is, Biblical prophecy scholars state the land of Russia will be around till the end. It is generally acknowledged there is no mention of the US, and with leadership like senile Joe, no surprise.

You know your Finland vs Russia stuff! I learned something. Bottom line is that no nation wants to be under the Imperialist Russian boot. They are greedy, incompetent idiots.

As their army has recently shown in Ukraine.

Interesting thing about that election in Finland: Russia and the war in Ukraine were barely an issue. Mainly that’s because strong majorities in all the major parties have the same opinion when it comes to Russia & joining NATO.

As recently as a few weeks ago Pooty trolls and tools were posting that Finland would never become part of NATO (opposition from Hungary and Turkey, the latter even though Turkey had already stated it was ok with Finland joining).

Sweden is left, but, NATO has stated Sweden would be under its protection during the accession process, and, Finland and Sweden have a mutual defense treaty. Sweden could sign such with other NATO members if it came to that.

The practicality is that Erdogan is just posturing: Turkey might get a couple minor concessions and some more earthquake aid.

Russia probably has nuclear-armed submarines off the east coast of the USA

For as long ago as they had them.

I have been against NATO expansion. I think the world is a safer place with neutral, non allied, buffer states between Russia and Western Europe. That includes Ukraine and Finland.

Me too. I was hoping Ukraine could have remained neutral. Unfortunately Putin's invasion of Ukraine had changed all of that and made that hope of mine look a little silly.

I do believe that with a real President and not feeble Joe Biden, this invasion could have been avoided in the first place.

Russia was made weaker today, but the world is less safe.

And the USA has been the only country to invoke Article 5 of the NATO alliance.

And other NATO members came to the USA’s aid when this was invoked

Brian “What Putin and the residents of Moscow and Saint Petersburg don’t want is 25 million Russian refugees getting tossed out of the former republics of the CCCP that are not part of the Russian Federation.”

Brian - the 25 million “ethnic Russians” are not those living in the former republics of the USSR - those are “ethnic Russians” living outside the Russian federation - including Russians in the USA.

The total number of “ethnic Russians” living outside the borders of the Russian Federation but in the states that were part of the former USSR number 15 million.

However many of those “ethnic Russians” feel members of the states they belong in (”many” but not all)

And there is NO movement to toss out ethnic Russians in any of these places.

And no, there was no movement to toss out ethnic Russians in Ukraine (8.3 MM called themselves ethnic Russians - but still didn’t want to join Russia)
