Eight days navigating over the US and beyond had it not been shot down would have required one heck of a lot of fuel for whatever propulsion system it used. And according to the govt., it was propeller driven.

Can somebody help me out here? From this photo, I can't see any propeller large enough to function at the alleged 68,000 feet nor is there any fuel tanks large enough to keep it going for all that time........

I don’t know - looks like solar panels to me.

It’s solar panels. And it wouldn’t take much of propeller to move it. I would be the view of the prop(s) are blocked by the panels.
