Those weren’t his “crimes”. His “crimes” were threatening to take down the deep state, and the know-how to do it. They know he can, and that he keeps his promises.
Engage him in a battle of double jeopardy to deflate his war chest.
He will probably make more in donations than this will ever cost him. It’s not going to destroy his reputation, it’s already pretty low to begin with. This stunt by the DA probably handed him the nomination.
