Watters: The Democrats have crossed the line, you guys have to do something other than speeches. What are you going to do?

Senator: We’re going to have Merrick Garland come in and answer some questions.

WHAT! We know exactly how that goes, and he says, I’ll have my staff get back with you, Senator. Garland could care less.

If you’re hoping that the Republicans will do something like Fort Sumter, in order to rescue Trump from a self-inflicted wound, you’re gonna be waiting a long time. In theory, you could get some governors and generals to go along, line up nukes, aircraft, ships, tanks, artillery, and so on. But it’s a big project. It’s actually pretty astonishing that the Civil War ever got off the ground. The history of the nation is littered with attempts at uprising and/or secession that never caught fire. As outgunned and outprovisioned as they were, it still required a herculean effort to get it started at all.
