Our local minor league hockey team had not had an LGBT night. And we are in an area with HIGH LGBT activisim.
Instead, last week they had a night where you could bring your dog to a game. They collected $5 at the gate for every dog and donated it to the local shelter. There was a dog parade between the 1st and second period.
The place sold out.
Minor league sports is about community and getting people in the seats. Even though this area is “friendly” to that community....evidently they are not hockey fans.
