Now they will have to go to Waffle House when they have a hankerin’ to do a shootemup at 2AM
No you can't, you obviously know nothing about owning a franchise and selling your soul to the corporation.
This was all about a contractual agreement between Burger King and Burger King franchisee EYM King of Michigan who obviously could no longer meet the demands of the corporation and still make a profit.
I have a friend who owns two Jets Pizza franchises in northern Michigan. Corporate Jets almost put him out of business during the Covid when he was barely paying the bills when they forced him to offer discount coupons causing him to sell the pizzas at a loss. Fortunately he survived.
Then Corporate demanded he change the flooring in his store and remove a plant positioned at the entrance. His argument was that much of his winter business was skiers coming in out of the snow and the surface Jets wanted him to put down would have resulted in many slip and falls. He won that argument.
As for the plant, when he went to their corporate office in Clinton Twp., he saw that they had the same tree plant in their lobby and argued that since they had the fixture, he should be able to have the same one.
He won that argument........
Bottom line, the franchise has the legal right to make any demand of you, the franchisee, as they wish. And if you don't comply, they have the right to terminate your franchise.

I have a feeling you are correct. There are certain neighborhoods that are avoided.
