for 13 percent who were black, it was worse I imagine. However, being a citizen of a country by far the most powerful in the world, with a standard of living other countries could only dream of (ration cards in the UK for example), anyone could be proud to be an American (not Michelle apparently).
She needs to admit that all the bad things from the 50s were caused by Democrats.
