I don’t think many of us have any idea or clue how powerful the bureaucracy really is. Wray was not a law enforcement officer nor did he have much experience beyond being a Asst US Attorney with the FBI.
He clearly has no spine from what I can see, but I am not sure how a person can predict that if the “nominee” has never really been in a leadership position.
The permanent bureaucracy and systems in DC seem to run everyone over. They ran Trump over. His own Pentagon and Sec of Defense blatantly lied to him that we had withdrawn our forces from Syria. The intel community lied to him. His own state dept lied to Pompeo and Trump.
I think all of us (me too) naively expect that the person(s) we elect are in charge of the government, but its just not true. This is the problem we face because we need someone who will come in and fire the permanent bureaucracy. If we get a non-democrat back in the WH such as Trump this will be the biggest fight because they screwed him at every turn, leaked selected classified info to harm him, persecuted him, spied on him, and pretty much refused to acknowledge his authority.
They were rewarded - not punished and shamed. DC rejected Trump and spit him out like a gristly piece of meat. This cannot be allowed.
Sad, but true.
Voters are not dealing with complacency this time around, but with desperation and futility.
Thanks;
Wise words indeed.
