MacIntyre: Anarcho-tyranny in the USA
The Blaze ^ | March 22, 2023 | Auron MacIntyre

The city of Philadelphia has announced an agreement to pay a $9.25 million settlement in connection with the police response to protests after the death of George Floyd in 2020. While dozens were killed and billions of dollars of damage were done during the riots that raged across America for weeks in the summer of 2020, it is the participants themselves who will be paid restitution by the government.

Law and order in the United States have now descended to a level of anarcho-tyranny in which the government funds rioters with the tax money of their victims. The slow death of the rule of law in America would be ugly enough, but what we are witnessing instead is the twisted, grimacing corpse of a system that was once designed to protect the safety of Americans now being used to punish us for disagreeing with our political elites.

The breakdown of law and order is common in nations that are in a general state of collapse. As the Constitution reminds us, the primary duties of a government include establishing justice and ensuring domestic tranquility. A nation that delivers neither will usually exhibit a wider range of systemic failures that would doom the larger civic project.

America, however, is perfectly capable of collecting taxes, surveilling its citizens, and fighting a proxy war against a nuclear-armed opponent in order to maintain a global empire. The destruction of rule of law by our leadership class does not seem to be a product of general incompetence, but a specifically engineered outcome designed to terrorize the average citizen. Conservative commentator Samuel Francis coined the term “anarcho-tyranny” to describe a state that is still capable of performing most of its essential functions, but intentionally chooses to use the selective enforcement of the justice system...

This pretty well defines our current national leadership’s methodology and objectives.

Getting businesses and apartment complexes to board up their windows in case the wrong guy wins an election is a brutal but effective voter turnout strategy. Giving huge payouts to rioters ensures folks will riot in the future. Seems like it would be effective also and help with the ‘boarding up window for turnout strategy’ of the dems.

IMO, the source of this cancer is the public education system.

Every red state legislature should be passing school choice. I hope school choice is on the POTUS ballot in ‘24. This would help Trump with a real weak spot for him; suburban soccer moms.

Anarcho-tyranny as described in the article is the #1 problem in America right now - because it is the reason conservatives and independents are afraid to go hard after the perpetrators of election fraud.

If we can't get to a place where its perpetrators are put on trial for sedition, the nation is over.

This is not just federal, this has trickled down to state and local levels of government. In Hillsborough County, FL requests for assistance with apprehending those guilty of trespass and property rights violations are met with stony silence from law enforcement, prosecuting attorneys, county commissions, and code enforcement agencies. The rot is extremely deep. Homeowners associations now no longer enforce deed restrictions making it open season for whomever wants to create mayhem on or damage to your property with a complete lack of concern for any consequences attendant to them as a result of actions taken in hatred and anger. Littering as a political act is rampant with private home subdivisions targeted exclusively. The legislatures and complicit liberal county and state justices together have reduced the seriousness of crimes from felonies down to 4th degree misdemeanors. And every malfeasor knows about it. “Law enforcement” is now an anachronism in America’s cities and neighborhoods.
