Matt Gaetz Calls on Ron DeSantis, Ted Cruz to Endorse Donald Trump for President
Breitbart ^ | 25 Mar 2023 | KATHERINE HAMILTON

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz (R) called on Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to support Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential run.

Gaetz made the comment during a speech on Saturday at a Trump rally in Waco, Texas. During his speech, the congressman credited the success of both DeSantis and Cruz to Trump because of how the former president supported them as candidates in their respective races.

“Only Donald Trump could have rescued us from Hillary Clinton. Without Trump doing three rallies in the final week in the 2018 election in Florida, my governor today would probably be Andrew Gillum,” Gaetz said, referencing the close race between DeSantis and Gillum, who was soon after caught up in various scandals. “How weird is that? And without Trump dragging Ted Cruz across the finish line, your senator would probably be beta-Beto.”

“So Ron DeSantis, Ted Cruz: patriots of the MAGA movement delivered for you in your time of need,” Gaetz continued. “Today, Ron DeSantis and Ted Cruz should endorse Donald Trump for president and stand with us as we were so proud to stand with them.”

“And without Trump dragging Ted Cruz across the finish line, your senator would probably be beta-Beto”

Nonsense Cruz was always going to win.

Yes, that was an imbecilic statement. Kinda makes the rest of the article suspect.

Has Cruz said he won’t endorse Trump? I haven’t heard either way.

This “kiss the ring!” act is winning over zero voters.

If y’all haven’t realized the subtext, it has nothing to do with poll numbers and all comes down to money.

Trump is so focused on knocking down DeSantis because the big donors and bundlers who supported Trump in his longshot 2016 bid are keeping their powder dry right now and not lining up behind Trump.

They probably were on the sidelines at this time in 2015 and 2019 as well, but Trump wants them locked up so he scares off any potential challengers.

Next phase, Trump will be overhiring experienced staffers at the general election level so no other candidates can get the “good” staffers for the primary. If the donors don’t line up by that point, his campaign has a money problem, which isn’t a good look for a billionaire.

Yeah, the smartass gun grabbing skateboard kid only came within 2.6% of beating Cruz. IN TEXAS? Sure, Cruz had it nailed.

As Sundance has so clearly stated,, the battle now is not over 2024, but rather over who will control the Republican wing of the Uniparty.

It is 2023. If people want to see the full field and maybe even a few primaries before making an endorsement . . . fine.

Heck, I wouldn’t be offended if someone wanted to support Vivek Ramaswamy at this point, just as the Ben Carson supporters were NOT a problem in 2016.

It is good for Trump to have a full field to go against.

Trump certainly did help Cruz win re-election in 2018-the beta male O’Rourke was WAY too close to grabbing that seat and was funded by the democrat turn-Texas-blue zealots-without Trump’s support, Cruz could have lost his ass-time to pay the pied piper...

When I think of Trump hiring anyone the names Scaramucci, Barr, Bolton, Sessions and Cohen come to mind.

The roar of the crowd disagrees. The more of these rallies the more crowds will cheer. You can remain in the peanut gallery if you like.
