We have challenges, to be certain.

I suspect that among the issues to surface during the primaries will be width and depth of appeal of each candidate.

How many indie voters will opt for the GOP nom? How many GOP voters will turn out, and will any be turned off?

Likability and trust are huge (that's where 'mean' tweets' impact is immeasurable) and insults and schoolyard names hurt the candidate among folks just trying to figure out for whom they might vote.

And, as an aside, intense unlikability and acute distrust did not serve Hillary well in 16. The Dems knew enough to find someone else in 20.
