Who is claiming anything but? Also, Trump neve4 mandated them. Trumps role as the head of federal response was to make sure the states had no barriers in implementing their policies. As such he got them ventilators, testing mechanisms’, ppe and a vaccine. In other words, he got them what he was being asked for. If your state decided to test daily that’s not on Trump, mandates, not on Trum0, force masks, mpt on Trump. Didn’t want to use hydroxy, not on Trump, didn’t want to use Ivermectine, not on Trump. The vaccines saved many lives and enabled the economy to reopen fully.

It is unfortunate that more effective vaccines were not made in time.
They have a very high side effect profile, but a very low lethality - about one in a million, versus one in 200 (and maybe one in 2000 going forward) for Covid.
For most they are safe and effective
