That’s a nice tight shot as well. What are they hiding? That was the Staten Island rally. Low turnout.

I hope that New Hampshire is seen as a “toss up” state next year as it was in ‘16 and ‘20. I’ve seen DJT there three times and it’s the only state within 400 miles of me that can be considered a toss up.

If there is ever a time for all caps.. perhaps this is it.

Thanks for the tips, fellow sandbox dweller and bomb-dodger! :) I have not previously been to a Trump rally. I have attended some big events like the GOP Convention in Houston a million years ago and a Support the Troops rally in downtown Houston in 2003 that drew about 12,000 people. But there were no former presidents at that one, so security measures weren’t quite as stringent.
They’re expecting 15,000 to 20,000 at this one.
Four of us are going in one car and the list of prohibited stuff was texted to me earlier today along with times and other instructions. (We signed up last week.) This will be an outdoor event. The weather is forecasted to be spectacular.
We’re expecting to be on our feet for a loooooong time and do lots of walking, and will prepare accordingly. And we expect traffic to suck royally, coming and going.
I really appreciate your advice and wow! You’ve been to four of these. Nice!
I’m really looking forward to this.

Excellent post and tips for attending a Trump rally. I have also attended several including the Jan 6 one in DC, Wilkes-Barre, PA (twice), Spooky Nook (Mannheim, PA), and Fairfield, CT (the last two for the 2016 campaign).
I will re-echo and amplify on some of your tips:
- Get there at crack of dawn. Beforehand, have a solid, hearty breakfast. I recommend breakfast being centered around bacon and eggs as this will keep you full most of the day.
- Bring a ratty lightweight lawn chair and a cheap cooler that you won't mind throwing away later. You will really appreciate being able to sit down as opposed to standing up for many hours and having some cold drinks on hand (no alcohol though, that could get you tossed out of the event entirely).
- Bring sunscreen. Usually you are going to be waiting outdoors for hours. At last October's Wilkes-Barre rally, I forgot it and got one of the worst sunburns of my life on my face and back of my neck even though it was early fall and the day was mostly cloudy.
- Do bring a fully charged battery charger for your phone device. You will run down the battery of your phone during the long day taking photos, video and surfing the internet. The ability to give your phone a full charge later in the day is priceless.
- Once parked, head immediately for the fencing corrals and stake your spot. Go with a spouse, buddy, etc., so you can take turns using the porta-potties while the other holds your spot in line.
- Bring at least three 16oz bottles of water per person. The concessions inside the venue are generally awful and restricted to expensive warm bottles of distilled water and soda pop. The food offerings are equally awful - usually microwaved burgers and hot dogs wrapped in foil - realize that most concessionaires that normally work these venues are closed as they are "boycotting" the Trump rally. This goes back to having a large, solid breakfast to start your day so you don't get hungry later. Maybe bring some nuts or dried fruit as snacks.
- Be careful what you wear. Most people will have shirts or jackets with Trump and MAGA slogans and that is fine. But if you wear anything profane, such as "FJB" spelled out, the Secret Service will not let you in unless you remove it. And if that's all you have on, they will not let you in shirtless either.
- Unfortunately getting there early does not guarantee you a great seat. It just guarantees you entry. Like mentioned earlier, latecomers sometimes luck out by being in front of the right door at the right time while those who have been there all day are shunted off to the back of the arena.
No matter where you end up sitting however, it is a great experience and you will have a great day being surrounded by like-minded people.

Maybe some of the Never Trumpers here on FR can arrange something. Wait that would take effort aside from Trump bashing to accomplish!
Yes, I am sick to death of these people’s behavior.

And I bet Trump knows and has counter measures in place this time. Don’t know why he allowed 2020 to happen but he is smarter and wiser this time around. Lets see what happens.

Nobody wants to destroy DeSantis.
This isn’t his time. It belongs to Trump.
If DeSantis wants to hold a rally, imagine the turnout.
It isn’t his time.

While it helps, being a great governor doesn’t necessarily translate into being a great POTUS.
I look at it this way, Trump is actually making DeSantis stronger by going after him, and forcing him to defend himself. He’s a big boy. If he can’t handle Trump, how can we expect him to handle Putin and Xi?
