Home-schooling isn’t nearly as difficult as people think.
Kids spend 6-8 hours in public schools every day, wasting time doing stuff like playing “hooker” game. Add in things like accouncements/assembly, health, gym, lunch, study hall, teacher keeping discipline, etc... - real learning is probably less than 20%
Yeah, but it is free day care that somebody else has to pay for. < / sarcasm >
You got that right. Homeschooling my kids rarely took more than a few hours each day.
It might sound like not a good thing to sit your child in front of a computer for home-school, but it's better than sitting in a classroom with 30 other pupils while the teacher explains things over and over again to the slower kids in the class.
This is why I hated school and was bored all the time. I ended up daydreaming in class which meant that I mostly stopped paying attention, which subsequently hurt my grades.
It's a shame because I'm a very fast learner and was reading at college level by the time I made it to 6th grade.
I was bored to tears in all my high school classes, except for typing class, which actually challenged me.
