There are four steps to implementing tyranny in any country, and those who've lived it know this is true: 1. Redefine speech (hate crimes) 2. Squelch dissenting opinion 3. Arrest opposition political leaders 4. Arrest those who agree with them. We're on #3. If we don't stop this now, we're all next.
