There was a kid in grade school who would eat beetles for a nickel. Oddly enough he got nicknamed “Bugsy”.

In my elementary school the kid was named Michael.
And he did not discriminate - all non-stinging bugs were fair game.
And he charged a dime, if I remember correctly.
You know - Inflation and all that.
This was in the mid-'70s.
