Natural gas burns very cleanly. It must be the Natural gas CO2 emissions they object to. So these dunces would rather have the gas and other fossil fuels be burned far away to generate their electricity.

So out of sight and out of mind/NIMBY for these clowns, and perhaps a majority of their constituents.

The real reason is that the gas supply lines at the retail consumer level are deteriorating and leak almost as much gas underground as they supply in some municipalities. If they force the public to abandon gas appliances they can just abandon the broken and corroded infrastructures that supply the gas.

But they won't outlaw derelicts crapping on the sidewalk.

Yep. Pretty much describes them. I recall that during the last energy crisis, several municipalities in the Bay area STILL refused to allow people to dry clothes outside on their balconies because 'they didn't want their cities looking like tenements.'

But taking a dump on the sidewalk in a human right. You can't make up this level of stupidity!

No. Let them die.

Some fine people there, used to live in Frisco. But, the thoughtful and nice ones have died off. All that are left are posers and tools, and the street bums.

Just saying, but we so many fearful, chicken little types in America these days. One fear is being killed by a gas explosion in your house. These types will opt for an all electric home.

For me, natural gas is the best for cooking and heating. As an aside, I lived in older houses where the stove ran on gas. But built into the stove was a heater that ran on common home heating oil. With the oil tank in basement. I guess the heater would suck the oil upwards via the burning action.

Hilarious.

What are “Bay Area” regulators? There is no one body that governs the Bay Area my knowledge.

We’ve got an extreme liberal kook neighbor who buys into every ridiculous liberal idea. He’s been bloviating on our local neighborhood news group about the horrendous state of our major secondary road El Camino Real. It is like driving off-road for the 30 miles from San Mateo to Sunnyvale. When I worked overseas in the 70s, the third-world countries I was in had better roads than this. He writes letter after letter to every road authority at the city, county and state level.

I pointed out to him that we have the highest taxes in the entire nation and the problem is we send tens of billions of dollars to illegals and more tens of billions to homeless. If we stopped that, we could have superb roads. He laughed at me, said I was ridiculous, and there is no correlation.

Wow. Our place is the same vintage, 1952.

When we bought it in ‘83, it had the original 1952 furnace. We’ve upgraded everything slowing since we bought it. We replaced the furnace once and, a few years after that, put in central AC. We are on our third water heater (natural gas, too). Both the furnace and AC are still working fine. The original furnace was a real energy hog and I wasn’t sad to see it go.

I put in a digital Honeywell thermostat when we put in the furnace that is still on the wall. It’s not on the Internet, but it does a great job of changing the heating and cooling set points up to four times a day.

They are forcing total electric on the dweebs. We see how reliable that is. Get ready for cold showers, and when the power stays off for a while, no water either.
Man if you think it sucks to live in California just wait a year or two.
Reparation will bankrupt those bozos.

So they are going to have a city full of homeless, blacks with five million dollars to spend and no reasonable way to heat a home or make hot water? What a paradise to live in. I guess they’ll have to start taking funds from the first of the five millionaires to pay for the next round of five millionaires. Eventually everyone is going to run out of funds and they all will be cold and smelly.

When are they going to ban using cigarette lighters to smoke crack? He needs to allocate several billion dollars to develop a solar powered crack pipe...with a large battery that can make sure they can keep smoking after dark and under bridges, cardboard boxes and shrubs. Gotta take care of his “base.”

Unfortunately, there will be no electricity.

The state has insufficient base power as it is, and these clowns want to put an even greater load in production?

“We’re considering banning gas stoves”

“No, nobody is considering banning gas stoves. Only a conspiracy theorist would claim such a thing!”

“We’ve banned gas stoves.

*shocked Pikachu face*

Natural gas is much cleaner and provides significantly more value than Bay Area regulators and politicians.
