President Donald Trump took his attacks on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to a new level Wednesday, as a super PAC linked to the 76-year-old accused his would-be rival of ethics violations tied to what it calls DeSantis’ “shadow presidential campaign.”
A draft of the 15-page letter by Make America Great Again Inc. calls on the Florida Commission on Ethics to investigate DeSantis, alleging that the 44-year-old has violated a slew of state statutes as well as federal campaign finance laws.
The complaint refers to DeSantis as a “de facto candidate for president” and claims that the governor is “leveraging his elected office and breaching his associated duties in a coordinated effort to develop his national profile, enrich himself and his political allies, and influence the national electorate.”
“Governor DeSantis’ failure to declare his candidacy is no mere oversight,” the complaint alleged. “[I]t is a coordinated effort to specifically designed for him to accept, as unethical gifts, illegal campaign contributions and certain personal benefits that are necessarily intended to influence his official decision to resign from office under Florida’s resign to run law.
“Governor DeSantis’ ham-handed maneuverings,” the complaint added, “have rendered him irreparably conflicted and have left the statehouse vacant.”
The letter includes as evidence that DeSantis has “abused his office and abdicated his official duties in favor of pursuing his national political interests” the fact that the governor has “met with influential figures in early primary states,” “is vetting operatives in early primary states,” and “met with individuals who are likely to play key roles in his presidential campaign.”
The letter asks that the commission impose one or more penalties including impeachment, removal from office, public censure, ballot disqualification and fines.

We’re not voting our way out of this mess.
Trump knows something about DeSantis that we do not—that being said, I will VOTE for anyone the GOP selects—I have vowed to NEVER vote for a Democrat even again.
>>>> It’s an issue President Trump cares a lot about - he even excommunicated a powerful friend (Epstein) when he learned that he liked younger women.
Sorry, but that’s not correct at all. In 2002, Trump had this to say about Epstein:
“I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It’s even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

It was 6 years later in 2008 before Trump actually kicked Eptein out of Mar-a-Lago. By that time, Epstein had already been indicted for 2 years since 2006 for underage sex. One of the main witness against him, Virginia Guthrie, had been recruited right at Mar-a-Lago. I’m sure your instinct will be to shoot the messenger, but you should actually get up to speed by reading the details in this article:
The late Epstein’s banishment by Trump from the Palm Beach, Florida, club appears to have occurred months before Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to state criminal charges in Florida, which included paying for sexual services from a 14-year-old girl.
I have been voting Republican since 1968. I’ve always considered democrats stupid, incapable of rational thought, pugnacious liars and cheats. Even today, I will not have anything to do with a democrat.
My first instinct is not to shoot the messenger but the message. I don’t believe much about Trump that comes out of the liberal press. President Trump said he kicked Epstein out of Mar A Lago for his tendencies, and I’ll believe President Trump over a NY Mag every day, thank you very much!
There were races where DeSantis didn't endorse anybody. For example DeSantis didn't endorse anybody in the GA Senate race.
DeSantis chose to endorse Bush establishment O'Dea while he didn't endorse Walker in GA.
BTW, Trump mock-endorsed Abrams.
I like DeSantis but don’t think he’s rough or tough enough for what will need to be done once Bidens out. ....because he does care how he’s perceived. Trump on the other hand doesn’t care if you like him or not if believes he’s doing the right thing for this country.
I agree. Trump usually says what I’m thinking. Some say he’s too rough around the edges in how he says things, and that may be true to a degree. But I’d rather have a president who errs on the side of too tough than too soft.
But it’s that very roughness that’s needed in Presidents at this time and for the future. Our nation is where it is because of appeasing and tolerating what our Presidents should not.....it’s past time for toughness...and better to be rough around the edges now.
But it’s that very roughness that’s needed in Presidents at this time and for the future.
100%. When my father first heard that Trump was running in 2016, he commented “We need a George Washington, not a billionaire.” (he’s since grown to appreciate what Trump has done for us)
I told him that Washington couldn’t get elected in this day and age. Trump is exactly what we need to change course as a nation.
Biden’s best hope is to face another old coot. I like Trump, I voted for Trump, but there’s no denying that, unlike Desantis, he’s old - almost 80 iirc. Time for younger options imo.
DeSantis suits up for Herschel Walker ahead of Georgia’s Senate runoff
"The Florida Governor gave the Georgia Bulldog football legend a treat, gifting Walker a last minute endorsement as he looks to stiff-arm Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in the final showdown of the 2022 midterm elections."
That’s for the runoff in December.
Moving the goalposts, I see.
Moving the goalposts, I see.
And with that nonsense you justify DeSantis' missed endorsement of Walker in the main election while he endorsed the Bush backed, Trump trashing, CNN RINO, O'Dea.
Just take the 'L' bro.
You said DeSantis didn't endorse Walker when he actually did.
You said DeSantis didn't endorse Walker when he actually did.
Read above what I said, all three sentences. The third sentence further specifies the time of the race. Look at the word "while". It means something in the English language. You should look it up.
The point that you are desperately trying to ignore remains.
