The University of North Carolina is asking a judge to block the release of documents related to the research of Dr. Ralph Baric, a pioneer in the world of dangerous gain-of-function virus research.
UNC is being sued by U.S. Right To Know, a nonprofit watchdog that works to expose wrongdoing by corporations and governments in the healthcare space, for documents related to Baric’s research while working at the university. While some documents have been turned over during the course of the coronavirus pandemic, UNC filed a motion to dismiss late last week seeking to prevent the release of some documents being sought by USRTK.

We take in a lot of government money but we don’t want the public to know how we have used it.
Proof positive that something is majorly wrong when they block access to research information. These ass clowns need to recognize who paid for it and who their real bosses are; taxpayers.
If one has the same mindset on display in the likes of Biden, McConnell, Schumer, Graham, et al. they don't see it that way.
But yeah, something stinks.
Most likely show criminal activity.
“Proof positive that something is majorly wrong when they block access to research information. “
Information that we paid for. We’re peasants to these people.
This is how “consensus” is elevated above the Scientific Method, when the data and actual Science is suppressed and lied about.
“...I wonder if those documents show NIH or DoD connections?..”
^THIS^
Probably ties em DIRECTLY to Fauxi....it’s likely the “smoking gun”.
He likely started the research there knowing full well it was illegal to do so.
Once they had it further along, moved it to China to avoid those “legal issues”.
Everyone involved with this BS needs to hang....starting with the little gnome.
Gary Ruskin, executive director of USRTK ..., told the Daily Caller. “We don’t really know why UNC is trying to keep these Baric documents secret, even though there is worldwide interest in them. We do know that Ralph Baric was a close collaborator with the Wuhan Institute of Virology. We also know that Baric was on the DARPA DEFUSE proposal, which in retrospect reads something like a how-to guide for creating SARS-CoV-2.”
All these documents must be released, taxpayers own them. If anything was illegal, people need to be prosecuted.
The work is publicly funded.
What possible argument can they’ve making to not release things?
It was created at Chapel Hill, Obama and Fauci moved it offshore where it was beyond the reach of US investigations, then based in Communist China it was released. One hell of a note, we were doing our secret weapons research in a communist country to prevent oversight. And we paid for it. Then when it was time it was released to stop the growing protest in China and to derail Trump’s reelection.
They know full well who their bosses are. That is not the taxpayers. They are going to protect their bosses as much as they can.
Time to defund and abolish these organizations.
It all comes down to LIABILITY. If the curtain ever goes up here, people are going to jail and some institutions are going to be broke. Of course, only in a Pollyanna world will that happen but there is always a bit of hope.
Amen.
The Board of Regents at UNC should have dragged these idiots in and laid down the law!
The same at the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston!
As the cigarette lawsuits showed, research outfits/big pharma/gubment may win one of these. They may win a few. But all it takes is one win for the good guys and the whole ediface collapses and, yes, people go to jail.

Reported studies were initiated after the University of North Carolina Institutional Biosafety Committee approved the experimental protocol (Project Title: Generating infectious clones of bat SARS-like CoVs; Lab Safety Plan ID: 20145741; Schedule G ID: 12279). These studies were initiated before the US Government Deliberative Process Research Funding Pause on Selected Gain-of-Function Research Involving Influenza, MERS and SARS Viruses (http://www.phe.gov/s3/dualuse/Documents/gain-of-function.pdf). This paper has been reviewed by the funding agency, the NIH. Continuation of these studies was requested, and this has been approved by the NIH.
So there it is. Ralph Baric and his colleague at the Wuhan Institute of Virology plainly state that they engineered a bat coronavirus, using Gain-of-Function methods, that infected the respiratory tract of humanized mice, and the NIH approved their study because it was initiated before the US Government pause on Gain-of-Function Research.
The 2015 paper published by UNC Chapel Hill Professor Ralph Baric et al. titled A SARS-like cluster of circulating bat coronaviruses shows potential for human emergence. As the authors (including Zhengli-Li Shi at the Wuhan Institute of Virology) state in their abstract:
“Here we examine the disease potential of a SARS-like virus, SHC014-CoV, which is currently circulating in Chinese horseshoe bat populations1. Using the SARS-CoV reverse genetics system2, we generated and characterized a chimeric virus expressing the spike of bat coronavirus SHC014 in a mouse-adapted SARS-CoV backbone. The results indicate that group 2b viruses encoding the SHC014 spike in a wild-type backbone can efficiently use multiple orthologs of the SARS receptor human angiotensin converting enzyme II (ACE2), replicate efficiently in primary human airway cells and achieve in vitro titers equivalent to epidemic strains of SARS-CoV.

The first paragraph not included above:
“Dr. McCullough and I often marvel at how the mainstream media somehow fails to see and report facts of enormous importance—facts that are documented in academic papers, grant proposals, e-mail correspondence, and video footage.
All a journalist has to do is read the documents and report their content. And yet, somehow, most legacy media journalists are apparently unable to gain awareness of and report what is immediately at hand.”
