This may be exactly what Prighozin is planning. If Putin is stuck in Sochi having cancer treatment, gov agencies may be afraid to make decisions. Meanwhile Prig may think this is a good time to preserve his Wagners and make a move toward enhancing his own power within Russia. His losing Bakhmut will make Russia look weak as well. I don’t know how realistic the report about a group of Russians planning to assassinate Putin and restore Russian business relations with the West may be. But I wonder if they are communicating with Prig?
There are signs of recent increasing restlessness in Russia which someone like Prig would certainly be aware of, especially if he is traveling around Russia trying to recruit non criminal/prisoner fighters for Wagner. His correct use of American slang may be a matter of correct translation, or it could be because Prig has traveled in many parts of the world and certainly encountered American slang. Anyone know how much English Prig speaks?
