The question I ask myself is this: 'Will a court convict a person of treason based on Article 3, Section 3 of the constitution?' You are right in that 'interpretation' is key. Unless the U.S. government declares the CCP an "enemy"; unless the U.S. government or a court declares the democrat party an enemy of the state - a prosecutor would have a difficult time proving treason - IMHO.
