“Yes he told him to put it away when Perter attempted to defend Jesus, but note he did not prevent him from carrying one. That is a very important distinction!

Nothing in the bible is by accident.”

With Jesus, the use of force, even in self defense, was a no-no.

“With Jesus, the use of force, even in self defense, was a no-no.”

That is patently false as you present it. Jesus would never advocate you watch a helpless female child be raped because you should not use force.

Also Jesus would never advocate a person wait to be murdered because force in self defense is wrong, that would invalidate much of the old testament to wit Jesus literally said he came in fulfillment of the law.

Jesus did not need Peter to defend anyone as Jesus is absolute, he is God, please let’s not spread a false doctrine on this issue.

Self defense and the defense of innocents less capable of their own defense is well established in God’s word.

Does this sound like Jesus was a abolitionist on violence?

Mark 11:15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves

John 2:13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

I am not advocating violence. I am just pointing out that it has a place in our fallen world. It is a sin to allow evil to befall innocents when it is within your power to prevent it. I readily acknowledge that is a hard thing to work through and not to be undertaken lightly.

Oh really?

Does that include the clearing of the Temple with a whip of cords and He Himself deliberately went out and made for that purpose?

Also, give us the chapter and verse where He says that self-defense is a no-no for people.
