In fairness to Dr. Redfield he was pretty consistent about this but the media selected Fauci and Collins to interview because what they said would get rid of Trump.
Step back and look at this logically......
IF the lab leak was true what would the news have reported at that time? That China, our enemy, screwed up and accidentally released a bioweapon engineered by the People’s Liberation Army, in Wuhan, China. They also allowed travel to and from Wuhan spreading the virus throughout the world (it likely would have spread anyways).
You have to view the event within the timeframe and what we knew in the moment. The NIH funding was not uncovered until later.
Who was the candidate that would have benefited from the American people thinking that China deliberately dropped a bomb on our nation? Trump or Biden?
This was politics. They used Covid to damage Trump and change an election and even then he still got more votes than any other Republican in history.
Sure, the NIH bureaucracy tried to cover themselves, but the real power players wanted a narrative that would help them get rid of Trump and they got it. The media did everything they could to protect China and to damage Trump.
That is why they sidelined Redfield. While I don’t view him as a “hero” given the corruption we now see in our health bureaucracy, but he was more honest than the rest of them.
