I generally agree with you, but this happened in deep red Florida, under an apparently deep blue Mayor elected by its citizens. Which country do you propose it join?

Let me quickly add re: the splitting of the country, I have no earthly idea how such a thing could happen. We have blue cities in red states all over the country.

I used to live in NYC and in Atlanta. Both are deeply infected but valuable. There are people in both who are conservative (a minority) and some who are not even political (also a minority), all of whom are caught in the middle. And there are people who live in small towns in deep red states who are hardcore lefties.

I suspect that a deep and careful analysis of this situation would lead to the conclusion that the patient has a kind of cancer that has tentacles all over the body and is thus inoperable.

As an aside, what might help ease the disease is an unending series of honest debates (if such a thing is even possible) between representatives of the Left (Woke and insane) and Right (rational, analytical, and sane). It would have to take the form of a modern gladiatorial contest.
