Whoever gets the most primary votes gets the nomination.
If backroom deals still had that much power Trump would not have gotten the 2016 nomination. Power brokers can try to fight him but the 2024 nomination is Trump’s to have or lose depending on what the primary voters say.

You’d think so. Does some shadowy Republican committee somewhere have the power to overturn that? It would be nice if some knowledgeable Freeper would weigh in on this.
Back room deals didn't sway the 2016 caucuses. Doesn't mean that it won't happen in 2024.
