No he didn’t. He put put a couple of tweets, one being a ~60 second video where he mostly complained about the election being stolen, but that was it. He never went on live TV calling an end to it, and promising to punish those that broke the law. Instead he wants to make them heroes.
Sometimes you have to put the shoe on the other foot to see things clearly, and this is a good case. Imagine if in 2020 Al Gore had called on protests the day of the electoral college vote, and a black guy was taking pictures of himself sitting with his feet up on Newt Gingrich’s desk. Hero, or outlaw?

then. Standing there in a black overcoat,
pleading with protestors to keep it
peaceful, and to go home. It was on Faux
News as I remember, as that is the only
news outlet I watched at the time.
