All Walmart Stores In Portland Permanently Close
En Vogue ^ | March 3, 2023 | En Vogue

The city of Portland will no longer have any more Walmart stores.

At the end of March, all Walmart stores within Portland’s city limits will officially close.

In statement Walmart revealed “The decision to close these stores was made after a careful review of their overall performance. We consider many factors, including current and projected financial performance, location, population and customer needs.”

Portland has been the center of ANTIFA and BLM terrorism over the last several years.

People who live near the stores that are closing say the closure is going to have a big impact on them and low-income shoppers.

“Safeway is the go-to-store if I have to but that’s three times the price I would spend here,” Amanda Pahl said. “What are we going to do? You got to go further, then you have to spend gas money. Might as well pay for it at Safeway at this point.”

According to a Walmart spokesperson, pharmacy staff will work with customers to transfer their prescriptions to other locations before that date.

Walmart is not entirely without blame: they have played around with Democrats and the far left agenda. My impression is they have spent millions trying to buy off the extremists.

I can’t cite a specific act of wrongdoing by Walmart this instant but could probably summons one with an electric computer.

"Well, the Dems running Portland have shown they put the
ANTIFA goons before their citizens. it couldn’t
happen to a nicer city."

I would not be surprised if elections were not held in
Portland in the future. The commie DemonRats who rule (not
administer) that city have no reason to relinquish their
offices when their time is up. They will just turn loose
their Antifa and negro storm trooper urban armies on
city population that turns up at the polling
places to vote.

In fact they wont even hold elections. There is no one
in the city to force the creeps out of office. The street
gangs will keep them in power. All of the aware,
observant and sane population will flee. Walmart is
the beginning of the exodus.

The police are impotent. The state government doesn't
care. Maybe the The Dems will invite the Chi-Comms and
the North Koreans to occupy the city and help "administer" it.

So they’ve learned from their appeasement mistakes and cleared the hell out of Portland .. hopefully it’s a trend that will go nationwide !

The big Walmart in my little town is clean, friendly, and well-stocked, and we’d like to keep it that way.
Want the retailers etc to stay in your area?
Then behave like civilized human beings instead of pilfering entitled savages.

There was a time when I drove from Olympia Washington to Portland for church. I never thought Portland would become like this.

Oly can't be doing all that much better these days.

You mean you can’t run a business when people commit mayhem while taking their free stuff and burning your place down? I though the Walmart capitalists were rich and liked being roughed up, beaten, and shot,

Depends how bad it is in those urban areas. Not all are bad, or at least, this bad. I am sure they will pull the plug in other places when they get this bad.

Wal-Mart made itself big by being a destination for people who would “make a day of it” and drive an hour or more to load up on weeks worth of goods. I would imagine their stores inside cities break that sort of pattern and would then be more costly to run, have lower average purchases and lower profits per store.

Unfair to the BLM crowd. Now they’ll have to travel further away to pillage and shoplift.

Walmart cut its teeth by staying OUT of urban and even suburban areas...

Correct, Prog Leftist Union controlled Cesspools wouldn't let 'em in unless they kneeled to the Commie Unions, so Sam Walton offered BIG Savings for a little trip down the highway, EVERYONE took him up on it, and Walmart Mini Malls boomed, sending prosperity to less populated AMERICAN areas.

Portland, Seattle, and San Francisco are major Pacific harbors on the coastline of the United States, to which they belong.

A proper national government (which we do not now have) would hold, occupy, and possess all Federal and national assets in those cities and use force, up to and including declaring California, Oregon, and Washington to be territories under military government until order was restored in those cities and communist resistance was eliminated.

An obvious Democrat response will be to mandate they remain open for business or fine them $100K each day they are closed to the public for their needs.

Tuck that in some covid regulation legislation. You know, right next to mask mandates.

Keep the sign up, put up a perimeter security fence and repurpose the building and staff into county prisons. Walmart can go into a new line of business.

We could lease the West Coast cities to China for a decade and let them clean up the mess..bet those cities would be spotless when we got them back—and Antifa would be a distant memory.

Then if China reneged on their end of the deal at the end of the lease you could get your invasion.

;-)

“I never thought Portland would become like this.”

We never thought ANY city would become like what they are. Sixty years ago, we had Detroit, Newark, Compton and Watts destroyed by race riots, they became cesspools, and never fully recovered. Now antifa and BLM + insane prog city council people, Soros DAs, insane commie mayors, and radical “defund” foundations are doing the same thing to lots of our cities.

We are soon to become South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Venezuela if this isn’t arrested.
