“The legislature had a chance to get things right. Initial legislation banned the 3 main fraud activities. Party leadership demanded that those clauses be removed and subsequently, Georgia still has: mail in voting, drop boxes and harvesting.”
Stats I saw for the 2022 General Election showed about 15 out of 16 GA voters cast ballots in person, ID required. This due to the difficulty of applying for a mail-in ballot.
You can’t get rid of mail-in completely due to disablitiy laws, but Georgia eliminated about 80% in 2022 vs 2020 (even the NY Times ran a story about the drastic cutback on mail-in in GA). Black leaders in Atlanta were quoted as saying they would have to rely on in-person voting since large scale mail-in efforts were too time consuming with the passage of the 2021 voter reform law.
Drop boxes, nearly eliminated around the state. No drop boxes on street corners allowed, they have to be at public buildings. Drop box hours are 7AM to 7PM, no more midnight ballot dumps.
There was a single drop-box location in downtown Atlanta, at a Rec Center, on MLK Blvd. There was another up in Buckhead at the public library and one down in the Lakewood area.
The 2021 voting law worked.
Big deal, there will just be another consent decree in 24 throwing those safeguards out.
Sure it did.
I got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you
Until every vote in: Fulton Dekalb Clayton Cobb Gwinnett Henry Douglas Chatham Columbia and Richmond counties are verified 100% I’m not buying it.
On a side note, your info about the number of votes cast in person. Where’d you get that?
And we shouldn’t forget about the movie guy, from california, that lives in and is apparently quite involved in Dekalb politicos, who has Kemp in his hip pocket.
And we definitely shouldn’t forget about all the liberals and movie folks that will be moving into, Assembly, pretty soon. All because of the $1,500,000,000 they get every year. An amount the people have no say in.
Did they ever release the results of the question asked on the Primary ballot about continuing our money being used to bribe the movie industry?
