Post-Covid, firearm sales at the retail level soared to record levels. According to National Shooting Sports Foundation, the 2022 National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) totaled 16.4 million. While NICS checks aren't related to actual firearms sales, it's a proxy for gun demand.
A new monthly report from GunGenius, which uses data from Gunbroker, reveals the top-selling firearms sold online in 2022:
Here are the top-selling handguns from last year.
Here are the top-selling rifles.
And top top-selling shotguns.
Also, the top gunmakers last year.
We have covered soaring NICS checks in the last few years but have yet to shine a light on what Americans have been panic-buying. This report offers some insight into buying trends.
Oh yes those scary guns...
Mini 14’s are very accurate. Depends on the shooter.
And it will take a lot abuse and still fire.
And their receivers suck too. Cracks and breaks resulting from porous metal.
Kinda butthurt my CZ P07 ain’t listed. Best concealed carry I’ve ever had. I’m a fan of decockers, trigger is nice, did some work on it and now it’s really good, cut my slide for a holosun dot, which impacted muzzle flip a little bit, so I added a spirally threaded barrel (I just thought it looked cool) and a compensator. P07s are just criminally underrated.
Well not all Rugers are bad as one of 3 CCW pistols I carry is a bit dated but well made pistol is the P345, most P series are good shooters. Also big on Kimbers as I have a number of flavors and newest addition Girsan’s..
Thanks!
I only have one on the list, a SIG P365. SIG is the only new auto I will buy, have a number of their models in .38 Super, which function perfectly for that somewhat fussy cartridge.
Mossberg (for the most part) is made in the USA, reliable, affordable, and tons of variety.
When I was an instructor at the local sporting clays range I recommended the 500 as a great first shotgun for new shooters.
I shot tons of my own reloads, but NEVER somebody else’s reloads no matter how well I knew them and how good they were.
Ping
We have the 500 tactical. Its a fine shotgun.
No mini 14 ever survived a 2 day defensive fighting course. They ALL had problems inside 1800 rounds of high volume fire. I’d never trust my life to one
I sent one back to Ruger twice for hang firing...
