The gun criminals are, according to the numbers, a relatively small, violent group with felony records. They commit a significant percentage of urban gun crimes while free on bond and awaiting trial on other crimes, or while on parole or probation after prior convictions and prison sentences, data shows.
The analysis is based on arrest records collected by the Hartford and Waterbury police departments and was prepared by the Chief State’s Attorney’s office. The data shows the number of arrests in Waterbury is slightly less than in Hartford, but the percentages track.
In Hartford, shooting suspects had long criminal records; half those arrested over the last three years had been arrested in the city for something else within the prior year and one half. On average, they had 10 prior arrests, three for felonies. Most are men (95%), 18- to 34-years-old (70%).
Hartford data drawn from 345 gun violence incidents between January 2019 and March 2021 shows that 85% of the suspects arrested for gun crimes had been convicted of gun crimes previously.
Last year, of the 44 people arrested in Hartford for murders or attempted murders with guns, 39% had charges pending from other crimes, but had been released from custody after posting bond. Fifteen percent were on probation. Five percent were on parole. Of those arrested last year, 39% had prior convictions for violent felonies or gun crimes.

The only thing that will stop these criminals is to keep them in prison for a very, very long time.
Not the only thing. Something more permanent for this small group in needed. Involves lead moving at high velocity.
Ct is another deep blue state with draconian gun control laws which are totally worthless. Liberals get what the deserve.

There are a few non-hispanic white men who commit crimes with guns in Hartford and Waterbury—they keep them in museums next to the Unicorn exhibit.
Unless I missed it, there’s no mention of the race of these perpetrators.
The state has come up with the brilliant plan of having white men register their guns to prevent black and hispanic crime!
No US city has a “gun problem” what they have is a black problem, but no one wants to admit that.
You can be more precise—it is young black men—probably less than 2% of the population.
I find this hard to believe, Main Stream news outlets have told us time and time again that all this is called by climate change and white supremacy

The root of violence is young men with no sense of right or wrong, no empathy, who kill without caring. First the liberals killed the black family, then they pushed God out of the way and substituted the State as ultimate law giver.
This is what happened in New York during Guiliani’s tenure. By focusing prosecution on repeat offenders, they reduced crime tremendously.
You have a relatively small number of professional criminals who make their living from crime. To do so, they have to do a LOT of crimes per week.
Why not analyze the families where these people grow up and try to stabilize families.
We know what the “families” are...they are single moms.
There is nothing to “stabilize”.

The sooner they RE-acknowledge that - in criminal justice - there are 2 distinct classes of human beings - human, and animal - the sooner we can return to a safer society.
The ‘experiment’ has failed. FAR past time that they admit it.

That started with LBJ’s “Great Society” and has gotten worse every year. Pay mommas to have no baby daddy around and guess what happens.
And the end result will be more gun laws against manufacturers, shops and law abiding citizenry
