Yes...he should have said no go...but I suspect he didn’t really understand risk like most of us do. Incredibly handsome, a really nice guy (my son in law met him)someone who was loved by all - life rolled out the red carpet for him.

should have said no go...but I suspect he didn’t really understand risk like most of us do. The night prior, his own intstructor offered to fly him. The staff at the airport warned him not to fly due to the weather. He didn't want to listen.

A REAL shame. I admired him, he was a smart guy, seemed open to all sides of the political spectrum, and his magazine, George, was first-rate, giving both conservative and liberal viewpoints equal expression, and always a fun read. Sure wish he was still around, and that we still had a political magazine like George.
