Yes. As much as I disliked Carter as a President, he never descended to the levels of Clinton, Obama, but most especially, Biden.
No. Absolutely not. He’s got that going for him.
Carter is a good moral man. Decent human being and patriotic. That said, his political and economic ideologies are deeply flawed.
I can see you and I view Carter in much the same light.
Boy, that was a blast from the past, John B. Anderson. I hadn’t thought of that person in a long time, but...I had a picture form in my head, so I had to look up the name...yep. My brain stored that image of him fairly accurately.
Funny, when we realize we get somewhat politically aware. I became aware when Goldwater ran against LBJ. I was only seven, but I remember it somewhat. I had strong political feelings when Nixon ran against Humphrey, and I was all in on Nixon.
I was an independent for a long time, but you and I are not the kind of independent that the term “Independent” brings to mind for me.
I have no respect for those kind of “Independents” of which you are not one. (You are what I view as an ideological independent, someone who rejects the functioning of both parties.)
The people I hear of as “Independents” are people who are not ideological independents, but people who have forsaken cognition on issues by sacrificing that necessity to think on the ideological altar of trying to be “evenhanded” and “openminded” about things. It is an odd form of virtue signaling.
I have utter contempt for those people. Those people are divorced from reality because they refuse to think about it.
Since the death of Kennedy, it has been all downhill for the Democrat Party. And the Republican Party is only better by comparison because they aren’t so filthy bad as the Democrats.
God is the fairest judge of all. That is why he is feared so much.
That isn’t Biblical. We’re all guilty of the Messiah’s death.
And was something else behind Carter’s antisemitic, anti-Israel rhetoric of later years? It has a very leftist tinge to it, which is steeped in atheism.
Before JFK. When Reagan wrote in 1960, “Underneath the tousled boyish haircut is still old Karl Marx”, he wasn’t being flippant but referring to Kennedy’s socioeconomic platform.
Thank you for the very informative posting!
Was not at all aware of this Canadian crisis!
Nor of the fascinating stories of the Guinea worm!
May God comfort President Carter and his family and give him a peaceful passing.
Amen
Carter believed and said that Jesus Christ’s would approve of homosexual unions, the HOLY Son of God. Utter blasphemy.
Obviously, Carter didn’t know the Bible, the Author of the Bible, or his Creator.
Over the years, he would always condemn Israel no matter what the situation. He was an anti-Semite.
These kind of beliefs don’t make you a Christian.
100% FRiend.
That is true, but up until Kennedy, they tried to keep it under wraps. After that, it was Katy Bar The Door.
Carter was an incompetent President, but he was still a Patriot. Bill Clinton started the cultural decline, Obama declared war on American tradition and hastened cultural rot, and Biden is just a corrupt, arrogant a**hole. I’d take Carter by far over any of the other 3.
Carter was the Democrat who made me Republican.
Mine too.
I've got more experiences from back then that would make you cry.
I don't think he was cabal but he certainly was an elitist who thought his thoughts and ideas were sacred....
but, may his passing be peaceful.
