John Kerry's fight against the "climate crisis" has taken the jet-setting Biden administration official to yet another luxurious location: a five-star island resort in the Bahamas.
Kerry, who has served as President Joe Biden's climate czar since January 2021, is on the Caribbean island for three days this week to "advance international cooperation among nations particularly vulnerable to the climate crisis," the State Department announced Monday. Included in his itinerary was an opulent opening ceremony held at Atlantis Paradise Island, a lush five-star resort that boasts 14 swimming pools, 14 lagoons, dozens of luxury restaurants, a yacht marina, a private golf course, a world-class casino with more than 700 slot machines, at least 3 nightclubs, and a movie theater. Bahamian prime minister Philip Davis during a Wednesday night speech thanked Kerry for attending the ceremony, a line that was met with muffled applause.

I went there for a week long vacation with the family and we all had a good time. The only gripe I had was the prices for food and drinks (including just bottle water) was higher than Vegas. We were going to be one of those family types who took a cruise and came over for a day trip excursion. After thinking about it some more, since the cruise highlight was going to be Atlantis resort, we just decided to spend the week there instead. I would go back as it was enjoyable. Forget the name of the resort area we stayed at but it had all of these walkways next to and over walking paths filled with various small sharks and other types of interesting fiah.
Wife and I visited the Bahamas in 2019, and our tour guide (a very friendly and well-informed taxi driver) took us there, where we browsed the ground floor mall and casino. It’s really nothing special. A few sparsely attended shops hawking high end bling like Rolexes and some roulette tables and slot machines. The Luxor in Vegas is a lot more interesting, and I found it boring. And the buffet in the Luxor is better.
If you get to Nassau, at the visitor center, ask for a cab driver named Felix to give you a tour. You will not be disappointed.
Last year I went to Cabo for the first time. I thought it was great except when we went down to the marina on Sunday. There were three cruise ships in port that day. It was incredibly crowded. Plus every ten feet there was another person trying to sell you something. We walked back to the hotel after a hour.
We went back the next morning when the only people out were the fishing charter people. It was great. Hired a boat to take us out to the arch.
And about a quarter the price.
It is funny that the ONLY thing worth seeing in Nassau is this resort.
The rest of it is a dump filled with people standing around with their hands out.
He is about the largest charlatan that exists in the USA Today.
If he had to make it on his own in this life, he would have ended up a 2nd shift assistant manager at Piggly Wiggly, and they would have forbid him from counting the night receipts, for various reasons.
