The airlines are putting a huge amount of confidence in the computer software and AI that was designed to make flying a huge jet’s safety and performance less dependent on the skill of any individual pilot. They feel they can posture, go woke and nothing bad will happen. Its as bad and dangerous a policy as “driverless” cars.

This is what caused two 767 crashes - no “seat of the pants” understanding what flying a plane feels like - they were just driving a computer.

Think I’ll just rent a car next time and drive.

It’s similar to hospitals thinking they can do away with human errors if they just build more and more complexity into the patients’ charts. One would think that might even make the problem worse.
