Chicago residents rip Mayor Lori Lightfoot for homeless situation at O’Hare Airport

Outraged Chicago residents and conservative leaders ripped Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Wednesday for allowing “out of control” homeless encampments to grow at O’Hare International Airport.

“It’s part of the ongoing disintegration of Chicago,” Republican political operative Dan Proft told The Post. “[Lightfoot] holds the primary responsibility.”

“She pounds her fists at a podium and says ‘We’re gonna do this and we’re gonna do that’ for public safety — and it doesn’t get done,” said Proft, who hosts the Windy City radio show AM 560 The Answer.

“The situation at O’Hare is unprecedented,” he added. “It’s as bad as [Chicagoans] can remember in terms of quality of life issues.”

Critics began tearing into the progressive mayor’s lackluster policies after photos emerged depicting the airport as a sprawling, “dystopian” encampment for the city’s rising homeless population — sparking safety concerns among staff and passengers.

“The CDA is aware of the increasing population of unsheltered individuals at O’Hare International Airport. It’s a common occurrence at this airport and airports nationwide when temperatures drop in the winter months.”

No it isn't. It is a common occurrence at places like $#*+cago where it is tolerated. Not at airports where the winos and druggies are sent packing.

If they have a roof over their head (airport roof) are they actually homeless? /s

How many homeless in Hawaii? If I were homeless in Chicago, and could redeem enough aluminum cans, I would get to Hawaii. Even with the coming Ice Age, I bet Hawaii will not freeze.

After trying to spend a night in the New Orleans airport following a flight delay, I can say this is a very simple problem to solve and the city doesn’t even need to be involved.

In New Orleans, it was impossible to sleep at the airport, because they had a loud announcement on the speakers every 15 minutes, all night long. So consequently there were very few homeless people bothering to try and camp there.

Yeah, not BSD digs actually. Climate contrilled, plenty of room, free electricity, fitness area (walking), never-ending stream of marks to panhandle or rob, lots of dumpsters to dive, easy shoplifting from vendors. Might ge tough to get a shower, but these are bums, and smelling bad goes with the gig.

Oh, how could I forget - free CNN so you know what to think and who to vote for!

“are they actually homeless?”

I believe they prefer the term “unticketed travelers”.

This is an embarrassment to all of America.

Imagine, this is the first thing international travelers see when they land in the US.

Have been waiting oh so patiently for someone to notice that Hawaii - liberal, democratic Hawaii - has a dearth of illegal aliens. They really need to get several thousand. 30% of their current population would not be “disproportionate”.

We need a Hawaii that “looks like us”, I’m thinkin’.

How many homeless in Hawaii?

They used to live on the beaches but I hear they cracked down and gave out one way airline tickets with the understanding they would not be tolerated if they came back. Hello California!

These “leaders” don’t care anymore. They’re hell bent on destroying this country and they don’t care what we say about it. The time has passed for peaceful resolution.

I suppose the next policy would be for the homeless to set up on the runway.

Complaining, griping, what next? People can’t accept two dozen plastic tents and raw garbage strewn on the runways?
Intolerant.
