I love reading through the threads about the NFL. They are mostly filled with self righteousness—stating how long it’s been since they’ve watched a game. And then they proceed to tell you how this particular thing is wrong.
It is hilarious and sad at the same time.
My only beef is that they played all of the stanzas of the hymn, but only the first the the Star Spangled Banner.
In the end, it’s not a horrible song. It’s not in place of the national anthem. It makes people happy.
If you are bothered by it, change the channel and come back later. Or not.
The NFL is going to do what makes their fans and players happy. Honestly, if you aren’t watching—they don’t care about you.
The problem is—there is a storm coming—and the NFL is a symptom and a warning.
I compare it to the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Ignoring it does not make it go away.
