From what I remember, Trump mostly only went low when he was hitting back. I don’t really recall him initiating attacks unprovoked, unless you count those nicknames he gave people.

I remember Trump talking trash on Ben Carson, who had the mildest temperament of all the candidates in 2016. Trump said Carson's so-called "pathological temper" was as incurable as child molesting.

Trump's my main candidate for 2024. I'm just saying we shouldn't pretend surprise at Trump politically attacking someone he sees as competition. For me, it's something I liked about him because I correctly figured he'd do even worse towards the Dims (who deserve every bit of the criticism).
