I think if most of us were to be honest with ourselves we would admit that our support for Trump was a bit of a Faustian bargain. We saw the potential good he could do for the country as outweighing some pretty glaring moral and character defects.

Three elections later, it doesn't seem like such a great bargain. As I've said before, I have never seen the left advance culturally and politically to the degree they did during Trump's time in office. I really cannot imagine the rationalization for him being the 2024 nominee.

Yes, the political climate has changed drastically, along with the median age of the voters, and the anomaly of 2016 will not happen again.
