I see. Sorry for the oversight. Perhaps only recently did the Chinese have the capability to intervene.

The P-3 wasn't actually in Chinese airspace by internationals standards. I think China started claiming a larger territorial limit recently.

Remember China is demanding all aircraft military or civilian register with their air traffic if they fly over any part of the sea of China or fly into or out of Taiwan. We acquiesced to that.
