Not accurate. Societies change rather than completely die. A society runs on influences. Individual influences rise and fall.
I like the meme: If you put a group of homosexuals on a desert island and a group of heterosexuals on another island, after 100 years you’d find a thriving community on the heterosexual island and only bones on the homosexual island.
I don’t know who wrote it, but it makes the point of how societies survive very well.
