Nearly one year into the war between Russia and Ukraine, Americans’ support for Ukraine holds steady. A stable 65% of U.S. adults prefer that the United States support Ukraine in reclaiming its territory, even if that results in a prolonged conflict. Meanwhile, 31% continue to say they would rather see the U.S. work to end the war quickly, even if this allows Russia to keep its territory.
These data are from a Gallup web survey conducted Jan. 3-22, while the Russia-Ukraine conflict was at a relative stalemate and negotiations were underway among the U.S., Germany and other Western allies, who were contemplating intensifying their military support for the country to include tanks. Shortly after the poll was conducted, President Joe Biden announced that the U.S. would send 31 tanks to Ukraine.

As the war in Ukraine enters its second year, Americans’ support for the nation, despite a prolonged conflict, has held steady. Although the degree of support varies, majorities of all party groups would like to see the U.S. support Ukraine in regaining its territory, even if that entails a prolonged conflict, rather than end the conflict quickly and cede territory to Russia.

Thanks, nesnah. I don’t wish ill on these people in Ukraine but this is not our battle. If Europe feels threatened and wants to make it their battle, that is their business. And they should damn well do something about it if they feel they should.
But it isn’t our business. We have zero strategic interests there. They only want us when their back is against the wall.
We can’t afford it and we sure as hell won’t get any thanks for it other than a swipe of the hand to take US dollars from our pockets. They are not, and have never been our friends.

I don't doubt the poll at all. It's easy to say, "I stand with Ukraine" when standing with Ukraine means absolutely nothing more than putting a flag on your social media profiles. No pain, no suffering, no hardship. Just an empty slogan.
It's also the answer you're supposed to give. Nobody is going to tell a pollster, "I'm rootin' for Putin!"
What does “I stand with Ukraine” mean?
That you support War?
That you love Biden?
Being against war does not mean that you love Putin.

And how many of that 65% will send their loved ones to fight in a war to protect the borders of a country run by a ruthless dictator? You have to dig for the truth. This portion of our population is lazy and stupid.
