Dry Run: Balloons Called Top ‘Delivery Platform’ For Nuclear EMP Attack
MSN ^ | 02/03/23 | Paul Bedard

High altitude balloons, like the one China has floated over mountain state military bases this week, are considered a key “delivery platform” for secret nuclear strikes on America’s electric grid, according to intelligence officials.

Spy balloons, used by Japan to drop bombs during World War II, are now far more sophisticated, can fly at up to 200,000 feet, evade detection and carry a small nuclear bomb that if exploded in the atmosphere would shutdown the grid and wipe out electronics in a many-state-wide area.

The threat of balloon launched electromagnetic pulse attacks was warned about by a congressional EMP commission and inside the military several years ago.

In a 2015 report for the American Leadership & Policy Foundation, Air Force Maj. David Stuckenberg, one of the nation’s leading EMP experts, wrote extensively about the threat balloons carrying bombs pose to national security.

"No intelligence official believes what was stated in that article."

Yeap. Whatever MSM says you can bet it's the opposite. They keep saying it's from China. What evidence do they have of that?

All the public know so far is that it was first observed over the Aleutian Islands and following the Jet stream through the US.

Bill Gates and one of his weather programs more likely.

It’s frightening to see that the human race has largely been perfectly trained as obedient Pavlovian dogs to heel and snap in a matter of 24 hours.

That should not be frightening. It is just the way things are and requires appropriate attention.

Consider that an absolute majority of people must be trainable and willing to follow the directions of an authority, else we could not have any form of civilized society at all. We would have small bands of hunter-gatherers at best. And we would probably be extinct by now. Other creatures do that pack of hunter-gathering thing a lot better than we do.

The problem comes along in every generation when the "leaders" that rise up are sociopathic or psychopathic and direct their followers in self-destructive ways. We have spent the better part of the last 10,000 years looking for solutions to this problem. We are still looking.

In the meantime, it is always best to keep a wary eye on "followers" - both theirs and yours.

I believe it. A friend of mine’s father was at Area 51 in its early years. He NEVER talked about his work.

They keep saying it's from China. What evidence do they have of that?

Nothing that they will want to share with us.

I would expect they have been recording the transmissions from that equipment since it was launched. They might even have broken the encryption of the messages. And they have telescopes good enough to read the labels on the exterior surfaces.

They might even have spies who told them about the program.

Whatever they have, this is not a "Court of Law" and the notion of "Innocent Until Proven Guilty" does not apply.

The balloons are from China. They are conducting a variety of surveillance missions, one of which is provocation testing. The game has been going on for decades and everybody plays.

Thanks for the info. The whole balloon thing is very interesting, but I’m sure glad I’m not a young person nowadays.

Why bother?

A missile will be fast and unstoppable.

What you call depletion is actually leading to new factories and higher production rates to put us in a much better position as the old and outdated stuff is replaced with new and upgraded versions.

This applies not just in America but among our allies and NATO.

Extreme electromagnetic incidents caused by an intentional electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack or a naturally occurring geomagnetic disturbance (GMD), caused by severe space weather, could damage significant portions of the Nation’s critical infrastructure, including the electrical grid, communications equipment, water and wastewater systems, and transportation modes. The impacts are likely to cascade, initially compromising one or more critical infrastructure sectors, spilling over into additional sectors, and expanding beyond the initial geographic regions adversely impacting millions of households and businesses.

For these reasons, the potential severity of both the direct and indirect impacts of an EMP or GMD incident compels our national attention.

There was also an emp EO in 2019 and a simulation/exercise which folks can now download in PDF form.

That’s stupid. They were using radar and other sensors to map our nuclear facilities. China is planning to launch nuclear attacks in the near future along with Russia, North Korea and maybe Iran. It’s up to each of you to get ready or keep your heads in the sands of stupid conspiracy theories and leftist falsehoods and hysteria about fallout.

Find some courage and ingenuity instead of biting at the heinies of our own countrymen.

EMP effects have been hysterically exaggerated.

WE HAVE MORONS AS LEADERS IN OUR MILITARY, INCLUDING the CoC!

The military leadership was very busy with other matters—they had to amend this document:

“EMP effects have been hysterically exaggerated.”

The article you cited focused on North Korea and was based on some limited examples.

The Wikipedia article—https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_electromagnetic_pulse

is a more balanced and detailed discussion.

This is a very complex subject—and the details matter.

What muddies the water even further is that we do not know (in the public domain, at least) the capabilities of different countries in this area.

No one would consider delivering a nuclear device with a balloon. They are slow, and if the wind blows the wrong way you might mistakenly attack the wrong country.
