The U.S. is considering a plan to shoot down the Chinese spy balloon once it crosses over the Atlantic Ocean, where it could fall without causing harm to anyone below and potentially be recovered, a senior U.S. official told Fox News.
President Biden addressed the balloon briefly Saturday in response to a reporter's question, saying, "we're going to take care of it."
This is a developing story and will be updated.

Electronic monitoring. Same reason our AWACS and such fly in Poland, as close to the Belarus border as they can.

Scratch earlier post, it’s lower level airflow. Upper apparently is out of the WNW.

I wonder why the Chicoms didn't terminate it when they saw it going off course? We would have…I think.

That would be very convenient - over the Atlantic - won’t be recovered and contents and mission won’t be revealed.

This was a dry run to see how weak this country is and how we would react.
What did the Chicoms do when that plane was grabbed back in the beginning of GW Bushes first term?
That is how we should have reacted. But pig face bidet couldnt because he is tied at the hip with the chicoms.

I wonder if they launched it from the sea. Would be pretty tricky to launch it from China without it going over Japan and/or Korea, Okinawa, or Russia ( not that Putin would shoot it down or alert us).

2pm update.
Fox has an expert saying they will shoot it down over the Atlantic but within the 13-mile nautical limit.
