I don't know when this changed. Who the hell put HR in charge. Back in my day they did the paroll, insurance and other benefits. They processed employment applications but were never in charge of selections or any disciplinary actions.
Now they seem to be running the show. I don't understand why management gave them so much power. If an HR person came into my office spewing woke nonsense, I would have said "Get the F+++ out of my office and get back to payroll".
I guess its a good thing I retired when I did.
