How about a synopsis?
Here’s what the balloon incident tells me.
1. China is more technologically advanced than we knew (what they can see with that balloon, more than seen with satellites).
2. China is getting information for the purpose of carrying out more effective nuclear strikes against us in the near future, probably along with North Korea, Iran and Russia.
3. They want to rule the world, but I already knew that. The PLA is not the nice Chinese people you’ve already met. The PLA is dead serious about expanding influence perpetually. Existence of governments and freer societies like ours (chaos) is considered to be a threat to their desired way of life (order).

No only did they live in China for 10+ years, they married, raised a family, ran businesses, and speak fluent Mandarin, aka Chinese, ans maintain vast number of contact in China this day.
They do not pretend to be ‘intellectual giants’ - just ordinary people explaining how China works, its culture, its politics, and what is happening right now inside China.
You can continue to live in ignorance about China along with most other Westerners, gleaning only what the drive by media tells you on glitzy entertaining TV shows. Educate yourself or live in ignorance, your choice.

Yeah earthquakes are a feature in Western WA.

In short, China’s leadership considers the US to be mostly empty space, ripe for colonization. And the more people who remain ignorant because they will not spare the time to learn, makes Chinese colonization more inevitable.
On April 1, 2001 a Chinese Air Force jet collided with a U.S. military spy plane 70 miles off the coast of China, forcing it to land on the Chinese island of Hainan. This occurred ten weeks after the inauguration of George W. Bush as president. The Chinese military held the American crew for ten days until the Bush administration issued a “letter of two sorries” in which the US government said it was sorry for the death of a Chinese pilot involved in the incident and was sorry for entering Chinese airspace. The United States paid China $34,000 for the cost of lodging and feeding the crew for ten days as well as the cost of disassembling the plane and shipping it back to the United States.
The Chinese humiliated the US and the new president. Instead of reassessing the one sided “free trade” policies that were dismantling domestic manufacturing and shipping it overseas, the Bush administration continued to work with US companies to ship manufacturing, jobs, and our economic strength to China. Imagine where we would be today if Bush had kicked China out of the WTO and redirected US trade and economic policy to revitalizing our domestic manufacturing.
We were warned in 2001 and we failed to heed the warning. Today we send our military stockpiles to help Ukraine defend its border while millions of people annually cross our borders to take up permanent residence and a Chinese balloon flies unopposed across the breadth of the homeland.
We claim to be a superpower. Over a 20 year period we dismantled the greatest industrial infrastructure on the planet and gave much of it to the Chinese. The manufacturing infrastructure that saved the Allies in WWII is gone. Our military tells us it will be years before US manufacturers can replenish the arms stockpiles sent to Ukraine in a few months. The truth is the US domestic industrial infrastructure cannot supply the goods it supplied during WWII today, much less support a protracted war with China. For a nation to truly be a superpower it must have the economic infrastructure to support its military in a war with nations having modern militaries.
If we are truly a superpower, why do we blink when tested by the Chinese?
