Joe Biden Offered Vladimir Putin 20 Percent of Ukraine to End War: Report
Newsweak ^ | 2/2/23 | Isabel van Brugen

The White House and the CIA have responded to a report that CIA Director, William Burns, offered Russian President Vladimir Putin a fifth of Ukraine's territory to end the ongoing war as part of a peace plan drawn up on behalf of President Joe Biden.

A CIA official told Newsweek that claims in the report from Swiss-German newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) that Burns took a secret trip to Moscow in January and that there was a peace proposal put forward by the director on behalf of the White House were "completely false."

Last month, Burns traveled in secret to meet and brief Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, The Washington Post reported.

Burns is said to have submitted the plan in mid-January to put an end to the war, which began on February 24, 2022. The story was reported by NZZ on Thursday, citing high-ranking German foreign politicians.

Both Kyiv and Moscow reportedly rejected the proposal.

Newsweek reached out to the foreign ministries of Ukraine and Russia for comment.

According to the newspaper, the proposal offered "around 20 percent of Ukraine's territory"—approximately the size of Ukraine's eastern Donbas region.

Kyiv reportedly shut down the proposal "because they are not willing to have their territory divided" while Russian officials said they "will win the war in the long run anyway," reported NZZ, which has been described as the Swiss newspaper of record.

Sean Davett, the deputy spokesperson at White House's National Security Council, told Newsweek that the report from NZZ is "not accurate," and that the CIA would say the same.

According to the news outlet the German politicians said Biden wanted to avoid a protracted war in Ukraine, and so, offered the territory as part of the peace plan.

No matter the side one is or isn’t cheering on, or neither, another country’s territory isn’t ours to offer up. Biden’s enough of an idiot to make this story sound plausible. Shades of Chamberlain and his Munich deal with Hitler for Czechoslovakia’s Sudetenland.

No surprise. Biden has been partnering with Putin on a number of fronts. Nuking up Iran and removing Trump’s excellent middle east policy in particular. Then you have the WEF Euros who can’t wait to get back to business as almost usual with Russia. Dems had little interest in Ukraine until they could use it against Trump. It should be no surprise that Dems and the EU would drop Ukraine like a hot potato to get back in bed with Putin.

Exactly. Biden always thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room when in reality he is the dumbest by a country mile. Everything he touches turns to you know what. Vietnam as a senator, Afganistan, the economy, his children, etc., etc.

The reality is that the Ukrainian territory being discussed is overwhelming ethnic Russian anyway. It is possible, perhaps even likely, that they do not feel so fond of mother Russia now as they did before the invasion.

Where are the updates? I bet they make entertaining reading. Of course they all will deny the story, even though it has the ring of truth to it. What else could they do? They can’t admit it, typical State Dept BS.

Sounds a bit like the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact where Hitler and Stalin agreed to share control of Poland, except in this case, Joe, and his crime family would be getting some kind of monetary kickback in the deal.

Being such a foreign policy expert, I wonder if Joe talked to the leaders of Ukraine about this first.🙄🙄🙄

Entirely different situation. In no way are these two scenarios similar to anyone with above a fourth grade understanding.

20% is a huge amount of territory. If this were actually offered — and at that percentage, it’s an absolute gift to Putin — and Putin didn’t take it, that speaks volumes about Putin’s goal re: Ukraine.

In any event, Biden has no right to offer anything, as it is not his country to give away.

Folks on here forget.

It was Biden who suggested that Iraq be split up into three areas.

A legend in his own mind. The man is mentally deranged.

Fact is this. It has gone way past the negotiating phase now...at least with pig face and his cabal in charge of the skim. And that is what this whole thing is..a skim operation and pig face Bidet will do anything to save the operation.

"Burns and Biden's National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, "wanted to end the war quickly so they could focus on China," while Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin "didn't want to let Russia get away with destroying the rule-based peace order and called for massive military support for Ukraine.""

No wonder the CIA would deny it. People would start asking questions about who is actually running things in Ukraine, much less the United States.

Considering how much 2020 US looked like 2014 Ukraine or 2022 Brazil, I could hazard a three letter guess.

20% would include all of Crimea and all of Donbas, and then some.

Correct. Anyone with a fourth grade education would understand this another colonialist war of choice waged by an empire building Russia on a smaller neighbor. We’ve seen this many times through history both recent and long ago.

.
What I suspect is happening now is Biden is trading Tanks and other weapon systems for Support by Republican Senators on his Classified Scandal where he let Hunter sell Classified data, in effect.

To support and protect Hunter and Joes on scandals for Tanks, and eventually Fighter Jets.
