I assure you I am far more up with the times and status of things in the EMR/EHR world than yourself.
And by the claims being made in this article, the author of this article as well.
Go bother to do your own investigation on how the VA/DOD move to Cerner has been going... this is a situation where they control everything, they won the data in the old system and are paying for the new system as well, they have 100% complete control over both and STILL can’t get the data from Vista to Cerner and get it up and running.
But you are out here trying to promote the nonsense that all the various EHR/EMR Systems out in the wild from dozens of vendors, running in tens of thousands of locations, are all sharing their information seamlessly with some shadow government groups in DC.
Most health care systems can’t even get their own systems to play nice together internally, yet they are shipping every single piece of data off to DC wrapped up in a nice bow.... You are being foolish.
Are their folks who would want that? Sure.. but reality is, the entire industry is NOWHERE near a place where they could pull it off.
