uh, stupid question, as you hit the tarmac doing 200 or so how do you slow down if your engines are off? aren’t the engines put in reverse to effect this?

I don’t worry about it.

I haven’t been on a plane in twenty years and I don’t plan on changing that any time soon.

...they are thrust reversers, not engine reversers...you can’t “reverse” a jet engine....

I think they are saying the engines are at idle not off. Just not producing thrust.
