Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell booted two Republican lawmakers from a powerful Senate committee on Wednesday after an unsuccessful attempt last year to oust him from his leadership position.
Sens. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) are no longer members of the Senate Commerce Committee, which oversees issues related to interstate commerce, science and technology policy, and transportation, and according to Scott, it’s personal.
“This is what happens when you challenge leadership,” Scott said in a statement to The Post on Wednesday.
“It was McConnell’s decision to remove someone who has actually run businesses and ran the third largest state from a committee I’ve served on for four years. You’ll have to ask him why,” he added.
*snip*
According to the Hill, McConnell will appoint first-term Sens. Ted Budd (R- N.C.), Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) and J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) to the Commerce Committee in place of Scott, Lee........

McConnell needs to be removed from his position.
*insert removal method here*
Vance is an apprentice RINO, soon to move to the head of the class. He’ll be Turtle’s minion as long as both are in the Senate.
This shows why or how he can live as the minority leader, he can throw away 8
Members of his caucus and still filibuster and therefore has all the power he needs. If he was majority leader he would need every single vote and have to kiss everyones tale to get anything done. Feel bad for Lee and Scott. They are’nt perfect, but at least they have some balls
He is NOT a RINO!
I guess you would RATHER have DEMOCRAT Tim Ryan!!! you people are unbelievable....GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE!
The GOP is a joke with him as their leader.
Re: 6 - there’s no backstabbing involved.
McConnell did right in their face. Went public with it right away.
And why, wouldn’t he? In the Senate, rightly or wrongly, he’s the leader of the Republicans.
It’s politics. Lee and Scott know that and whining like girls.
Why should we unite around GOPe politicians who will ally with the communists and behave exactly like them? For the warm, fuzzy feeling?
They get the power to do so.. They control anyone who he does not like.
Speak positive or get axed
“When you strike at a king, you must kill him.”—Emerson
He is a tyrant
When Boss Tweed was finally dethroned and was being dragged into some hearing or other, a reporter asked him, “Mr. Tweed, is it true you used your position to reward your friends?”
Tweed shot back, “So I’m supposed to reward my enemies?”
Politics ain’t beanbag.
JD Vance will prove to be one of the best Senators we have.
As for the Turtle, he’s not going to be around much longer.
What’s dumb about it?
Shoot at the king and miss, the outcome is always the same.
When I was teaching, there was an annual award that was given at the discretion of the Chairman. It always went to the student who had done best on a series of tests.
One year, that student had, several years earlier, referred to the Chairman as a “pig” in a public forum where he was present.
That student was actually surprised and complained, repeatedly, that the award went to someone else.
This business with McConnell? Same as it ever was.
No, not speak positive. But they publicly groused at length about McConnell and in the case of Scott challenged McConnell for Minority Leader.
My guess is that there’s plenty of Republican Senators who don’t care for McConnell. But they kept their powder dry.
If it’s any consolation, McConnell is not leader he once was even three years ago. He got rolled by Schumer hard last year in a couple of key legislative contests. My prediction is he won’t run for re-election.
Actually, McConnell willingly partnered with Schumer - there was no "rolling" involved in his treason.
“The Chinese own McConnell.”
They pretty much own everyone in DC, don’t they? The freshmen mostly are pure. Let’s see how they are a year from now.
There was an initial budget battle that Schumer outmaneuvered McConnell, and that was surprising.
China and it doesn't “drive” him to hate, it pays him.
