How soon will it be until the world reaches 'peak oil'?

Oil giant BP released a report Monday predicting that the world would sharply reduce its reliance on the company's signature product, oil and gas, over the next 25 years as countries hasten their transition to renewable sources of energy so as to combat climate change.

Helping spur the transition to renewables, the report says, are actions being taken by countries like the United States to rein in greenhouse gas emissions that 99.9% of scientists believe are responsible for rising temperatures.

“Government support for the energy transition has increased in a number of countries, including the passing of the Inflation Reduction Act in the US,” the report states. “But the scale of the decarbonization challenge suggests greater support is required globally, including policies to facilitate quicker permitting and approval of low-carbon energy and infrastructure.”

On Monday, President Biden promoted U.S. subsidies passed in the Inflation Reduction Act designed to help consumers purchase zero-emissions electric vehicles.

On my watch, the great American road trip is going to be fully electrified.

And now, through a tax credit, you can get up to $7,500 on a new electric vehicle.

The speed at which the world transitions to clean sources of energy is of the utmost importance, climate scientists have warned. A report issued last April by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change concluded that pledges and action taken by the world's nations were falling short of the goal of preventing a catastrophic rise in global temperatures.

99.9% of idiots think boys can be girls, with only the right amount of wishing and medical tweeking.

Who are these scientists? How do they make a living?

I forgot, what rising temperatures? Temps have fallen for about 10 years in a row. They can only place so many guages, in places surrounded by asphalt and high rises, before the averages remain average. Maybe they should put the temp guages over the top of solar farms?

Rises, peaks, declines. Every well ever drilled does this. No, they do not refill. You can get drainage from an adjacent well’s rocks, but there is no new net total percolating up from below.

Oil is made up of hydrocarbons containing carbon-13 (abiotic, not formed from a biological origin like Carbon-12 isotopes) and generated constantly from the mantle of the Earth.

The origin of oil does not matter.

What matters is very specific rock formations that can be found containing it. After 100+ years of discovery, the formations are well known.

It is those that are getting scarce. They don’t refill.

“How soon will it be until the world reaches ‘peak oil’?”

Never within our lifetimes. Based upon current petroleum consumption levels, the USA alone has over 100 years of untapped proven domestic oil reserves available. I that with continued exploration and technological advancements, proven domestic reserves will grow to three or four times that amount within the next 50 years.

Oil is abundant and located practically everywhere. The problem is finding deposits of adequate quantities that make recovery profitable using current technology, but as drilling technology improves, so too will profitability and thus availability of known reserves.

The whole “peak oil” idiocy was theorized by a guy named M. King Hubbert who predicted oil production would reach its peak in the early to mid 1970s and then crash like the stock market in 1929. His theory was no different than all the other dystopian and bed-wetting theories from the 1970s including global overpopulation, ecological disasters, world-wide famine, global plague, a new ice-age, eminent global thermal nuclear war, and anything other disaster a person could imaginable .

As to why anybody still listens to these doom and gloom theories from the 1970s is beyond me.

“99.9% of scientists believe...”

Had to stop reading when I saw that.

Conventional production in the lower 48 peaked around 1973. Global production from all sources appears to have peaked in 2019 but COVID may have obfuscated the data.

Chris Martenson discusses this in great detail in his “Crash Course”.

So, we had better use oil to power ICE vehicles lest the excess being produced spills out and pollutes the fish in all of the oceans.

Buy more SUVs to save the erf.

It does matter.

High energy particles race through space and the Earth itself, transferring energy to the Earth's core and mantle, breaking down into gas and oil among other elements.

“that 99.9% of scientists believe are responsible for rising temperatures.”

Starting out with reading that lie, I skipped the rest.

I found this....

1885 — “The amazing exhibition of oil is a temporary and vanishing phenomenon.” — State Geologist of Pennsylvania

1919 — “Within the next two or five years, the oil fields of this country will reach their maximum production.” — Van H. Manning, U.S. Bureau of Mines

1956 — “U.S. oil production will likely peak between 1965 and 1970 and decline steadily thereafter.” — M. King Hubbert, Shell Oil

1978 — “We are living in the twilight of the petroleum age.” — Glenn Seaborg, Atomic Energy Commission

2005 — “I don’t believe you can it get more than 84 million barrels (per day). I don’t care what…anybody else says.” — T. Boone Pickens, energy investor

2014 — “Beats me.” — James R. Maughan, Technology Director, GE Global Research

Of course it does not matter.

Oil fields don’t refill. Yup, Titan has abiotic methane.

But fields on earth are made up of porous rock. These are in well understood formations. The liquid in the pores is water and oil. You drill a hole. The pressure brings it up.

The pores become empty. Oil stops flowing. No matter what particles are coming in from space. Oil stops flowing. If this was not so there would not be literally millions of empty oil wells, most awaiting P&A. Plug and Abandon. There would be no such thing if they refilled.

Often small companies will form a seperate LLC for each well. When it goes empty, they stop operating it and bankrupt the LLC rather than pay for concrete. Recent gov’t bills contained money for the concrete.

This is just how oil works. If you think those empty wells are refilling, you should go buy some. You’ll get a good price.

Our mother remembered headlines in the New York Times that the world would run out of oil in 1939.

We have only drilled a few miles into the Earth. We have thousands of years of hydrocarbons to use. Research ‘abiotic hydrocarbons’ for the truth about oil and natural gas. It is not fossil fuel. There are oceans of hydrocarbons on the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. I doubt that ancient dinosaurs and savannas are the source of those hydrocarbons. Every other month are headlines about more and more oil discoveries.

Because they know we will not run out, they have to bastardize the language. ‘Carbon’ is now as common as the other favorites of the wackos, sustainable, neutral, etc. 99.99999% of all life on Earth is carbon based, which brings us to the real goal of the democRATS. They are as anti-life as can be. Besides abortion, they oppose saving a child who survives the attempt to kill them.

Abundant, inexpensive energy provides more choices and freedom, which is why democRATS seek to destroy more energy production. Not so long ago the RATS touted Natural Gas as the ‘clean’ energy, preferred by the environazis. Trump allowed American enterprise to Drill Baby Drill and we became the Saudi Arabia of Natural Gas. So now, Natural Gas is evil. Some leftist States are trying to limit and ban use of Natural Gas. New homes and buildings must be ‘all electric’ as if the electricity just magically appears. I remember those ‘Cooking With Gas’ commercials. Recently there have been articles touting the benefits of electric stove top cooking. When the electric power fails, one can still use a gas stove and oven by just lighting a match to start the stove. Instead of building up the electric distribution grid, democRATS in several States ask their citizens to limit their use of electricity. They want to mandate EVs, and then demand you not charge them too much. This winter many new EV owners are finding out the ‘joy’ of EV ownership. Their EV may be buried under the snow, but at least they are doing something about the climate. When the Great Cold of the next Ice Age returns, people will laugh at all the climate crisis prognostication. The future Comedy Channel will broadcast AlGore and his minions warning “the Earth has a fever” while the audience shivers.

Humans are so limited in their imaginations. We look at at an infinite Universe, yet believe that if you go deep into the Earths core it is finite. Tell me a reason why the Earth has a center? Because they say so, is the answer. Logically, the sun, the moon and the stars revolve around our Planet, because we are the exact center of creation? We now posit that our Planet revolves around the Sun. Is it possible we still don’t know the truth? We are just small things. In the scheme of things, much like a proton, electron whirling about each other. Where does the matter come from? Just possibly there is endless matter beneath our feet. Scientists have been wrong on a grand scale forever. Why trust them to get it right now?
